ELEVATE was formed in 2021 to simplify the lacrosse community and combine efforts to grow and further the game in Kansas City. ELEVATE offers wide-based programming throughout all of Kansas City, from beginner to advanced training and game play.
Jay Coleman started Blue Lions in 2008 while he was the the head coach at Rockhurst High School. Jay is a member of the Great Plain and the St. Louis lacrosse Hall of fames. Jay is in the US Lacrosse 200 win club and has been in 8 Missouri State Championship games winning five of them. Blue Lion has been the oldest, original club in KC, providing the community countless opportunities both locally and regionally for competition and development. Jay is currently the head coach of the Lee’s Summit West Titans.
Brandon Horschig relocated from St. Louis in 2015 to establish KC Heartland Lacrosse as a local program provider. Since starting Heartland, Brandon was quick to get involved and now operates a variety of clubs; Prairie Village Youth, Blue Valley Youth, and Midwest Top Gun. Brandon coached Blue Valley North HS from 2016-2018 and now focuses on the growth and development of youth across the city.
Brandon and Jay saw the results of working together for the good of the game which led to the founding of ELEVATE. In order to grow the game from the ground up in a small midwest market, the only two local clubs decided to team up to provide the best product possible to our lacrosse community.
